COP28: Rotary Hosts Panel Discussion on Health Consequences of Climate Change
DUBAI, 30 November 2023 - Rotary, in partnership with GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, are hosting a session titled "Climate Crisis and Health Consequences", addressing the escalating health threats posed by climate change. Recognized as a major health risk, climate change has profound implications for physical and mental health, disease proliferation, health infrastructure, and the capacity of health workers.
Featuring health professionals including from Rotary, WHO, UNICEF, and GAVI, including Dr. Vanessa Kerry, WHO Director-General Special Envoy for Climate Change and Health, the session aims to bring these issues to the global forefront, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts, education, innovation, and empowerment in climate mitigation.
