Rotary Representative Network

Rotary and the United Nations (UN) share a history of working together toward world understanding and peace. To further this vision, the RI President annually appoints Rotary members to serve as unofficial ambassadors to United Nations agencies and key international organizations worldwide. These ambassadors are responsible for networking, advocacy, communications, relationship management, and other activities on behalf of Rotary. They leverage relationships with these organizations to bring technical expertise, resources, and more to Rotary clubs to enhance our ability to deliver humanitarian services.

  • Dean of the Rotary Representative Network (RRN), Cyril Noirtin

Although appointed by the RI President, all Rotary representatives report directly to the Dean of the Rotary Representative Network. The Dean leads representatives in raising Rotary’s visibility, strengthening relationships between Rotary and UN Agencies, and supporting and inspiring our clubs and members. Cyril Noirtin, primary Rotary representative to UNESCO, is the current RRN Dean.

Global impact and reach

Established in 1991, the Rotary Representative Network increases Rotary’s impact around the world by working with international organizations to facilitate further collaboration and support on shared priorities such as polio eradication, food security, education, peace, health, the environment, and the alleviation of poverty.

To build understanding of Rotary’s global scope and reach, the representatives share opportunities for Rotary to make meaningful contributions via speaking prospects, blog posts, articles, opinion pieces, and more. They also hold and attend high-profile events to network with and promote Rotary activities to key decision-makers, influencers, and leaders within prominent non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Supporting clubs and districts

The representatives are uniquely positioned to secure resources and opportunities that allow clubs and districts to enact impactful and measurable local initiatives.

Rotary Representative Network members also collaborate on events and exchange information with Rotary Action Groups and The Rotary Foundation’s Cadre of Technical Experts.

The Rotary Representative Network’s impact

Through global networking, Rotary is expanding its reach to new audiences, and creating opportunities to gain members, donors, and partners.

With targeted networking to organizations and leaders, routine attendance at key events, and special event creation, representatives create opportunities for Rotary to become more influential worldwide and obtain greater levels of service.
