I n recognition of Rotary International’s anniversary and our more than 25-year fight to eradicate polio worldwide, Rotary clubs and districts have been sharing our story with the world by illuminating landmarks with the message End Polio Now.

Over the past two years, a number of iconic sites, including the Sydney Opera House, the Houses of Parliament in London, the Colosseum in Rome, the Great Pyramid of Khafre near Cairo, Chicago’s Wrigley Building, and several castles in Scotland have displayed the End Polio Now message.

How to start

How to ask
Customize our sample ask letter when inquiring about permission to do a lighting or an event.

Promoting your event
Once you receive approval for the lighting or event, be sure to alert the media with a sample press release .

Make it social
Remember to inform your online community about your event by posting messages on your Facebook or Twitter pages. If you have video of the event, add it to YouTube. Upload your photos to Facebook and Rotary’s Flickr page .
