Whereas I maintain that the prefixes like PDG, PHF, PP, etc should be prefixed prior to the word Rtn. and his name as per Rotary protocol atleast in Rotary correspondence and meetings, there are members in our club who say that it is not desirable. The logic they give is that " MENTIONING PDG/ASSISTANT GOVERNOR MAY BE A PART OF ROTARY PROTOCOL . BUT ADDREESSING ROTARIAN WITH SUFFIX LIKE MPHF / PHF/ PHSM IS NOT UNDER ROTARY PROTOCOL TO MY KNOWLEDGE AS IT IS NOT WRITTEN EVEN TO INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT IN INTERNATIONAL MAGZINES." At 4:26PM on 4 June 2012, Rod Mont wrote: Allison: I suspect that the reason you do not find the answer to your question is that each club is allowed to set up its own rules with respect to years of perfect attendance. Some clubs count the years as consecutive years of attendance. My club does not take away the achievement of previous years of perfect attendance if a Rotarian does not maintain 100% in subsequent years. At my club, the Rotarian in your example would be credited with 13 years of perfect attendance upon 100% attendance for his or her 13th year.

In other words, if a member has 12 years perfect attendance, then is less than 100% for a few years, does their next year of perfect attendance count as their "13th" year or do they start over at one year of Perfect Attendance? I couldn't find any guidance on RI website.

In practise, we have potential members and often guests that are not able to make a commitment to join. To nurture their interest we want to use this concept to keep their interest alive. I was led to believe this was a pilot under consideration by RI. Has anyone else heard of "Friends Of Rotary".

Two people had asked questions about where they can download info, and if new members have to sign a committment or take an oath and I do not see any response to this in this forum. RI website has the information and forms available for download. There is an oath that we all take when we join Rotary, usually administered when one is inducted. As for committment, the clubs in our district do not sign one as far as I know, but if you are not committed, why join such an organization?

While this orientation and meeting with prospective members, I have been number of times asked about the meeting intervals. We meet every week and that was one of the reason for not joining the rotary. We know that since last more than a century, we follow this tradition for better fellowship and community service. The reasons for adopting this weekly meeting policy are best known to the senior leaders of RI. My request to know that, would it posible to have regula meeting at fortnight? This will certainly increase membership growth, participation of members in the meeting as wel projects.
