Scholar and vocational training in Future Vision areas of focus
Rotary International News -- 4 November 2009
At their April 2008 meeting, the Trustees made a decision to encourage all Rotary clubs and districts to carry out projects and activities in the Future Vision Plan areas of focus in the years leading up to global implementation of the plan. In keeping with this decision, we have compiled a
list of institutions and organizations (PDF), which includes:
- Colleges and universities that offer graduate-level (master’s) curricula in one or more areas of focus
- Institutions or organizations that might support vocational training activities in one or more areas of focus for Group Study Exchange teams
As you consider district pairings for GSE teams or interview potential scholars, consider directing GSE team leaders and scholarship candidates to work with or apply to the institutions and organizations listed.
Keep in mind that this list , which currently represents about one-half of Rotary non-pilot districts, is a small sample of the Rotary world’s myriad scholar and vocational training opportunities. This is a working document that we continue to update periodically with your input and recommendations.
Note: This list does not represent endorsement, exclusive use nor any preference or agreement with any institution listed by Rotary International or The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
Possible uses for this list include identifying:
- Potential host institutions for your district's GSE team in other non-pilot districts
- Potential host colleges or universities that offer graduate coursework related to an Area of Focus to assist your Ambassadorial Scholar candidates with alternate host institution choices
- Institutions in Rotary districts that may be potential partners involving future grant activity.
