Project: Hepatitis B vaccination for children in India

Club name: Rotary Club of Chatrapur-Ganjam
Description: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is the leading cause of chronic liver disease in the Asia-Pacific region; nearly 40 million are currently infected in India. The Rotary Club of Chatrapur-Ganjam is seeking funds to immunize all children from birth to one year of age against the Hepatitis B virus. The club will also educate families about Hepatitis, Malaria, Diarrheal diseases, personal hygiene, and other transmittable diseases.
Resources needed: US$11,065 total for HBV vaccines, disposable syringes, alcohol swabs, refrigerator, and a vaccine carrier. The following donations will be accepted as well: one projector, a laptop, portable generator, printer/scanner and, one monitor.
