About the District Leadership Plan
T he District Leadership Plan is a set of guidelines for district administration. The purpose of the plan is to help the district governor and the rest of the leadership team to better serve clubs, enabling the district as a whole to function more effectively.
The required components of the plan are:
- Common terminology such as assistant governor, district trainer, district committees, and Club Leadership Plan
- Defined responsibilities and duties for assistant governors, district trainers, and district committee members
- District committees that ensure continuity of leadership within the district
- A clear statement of the duties and responsibilities for the governor
The plan strengthens Rotary at both the district and club levels by promoting:
- Faster and more responsive support to clubs
- A larger group of well-trained leaders in the district
- Improved participation in Rotary and Foundation programs and district-level activities
