Resources for Rotarians

O rganizing an Interact club is one of the most rewarding activities a Rotary club can undertake in its community. The Interact program gives Rotarians the opportunity to mentor dynamic young men and women who want to help the local and international community.

Rotarians serve as resources for Interactors, who will become tomorrow’s parents, professionals, and community leaders. An Interact club can bring new energy to a Rotary club, inspiring fresh ideas for service, increasing support to projects, and spreading knowledge of Rotary into other sectors of the community. Interactors, with the experience they’ve gained through this Rotary-sponsored program, make exceptional future Rotaractors and later Rotarians.

Here are some resources to assist Rotarians as they inspire Rotary’s youth:

Code of Conduct for Working with Youth

In an effort to reaffirm its commitment to safeguarding children involved in Rotary activities, the RI Board of Directors developed the following Code of Conduct for Working with Youth statement. This code of conduct will be incorporated into all RI youth program materials:

Statement of Conduct for Working with Youth

Rotary International is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for all participants in Rotary activities. It is the duty of all Rotarians, Rotarians’ spouses, partners, and other volunteers to safeguard to the best of their ability the welfare of and to prevent the physical, sexual, or emotional abuse of children and young people with whom they come into contact.

District Conference Manual

The aim of the District Conference Manual (PDF) is to make district leaders’ terms successful and rewarding for them, their district, and the clubs they work with. This valuable resource contains essential information on understanding the responsibilities of the district Interact chair position and provides ways to enhance and achieve goals.

District Interact chair list

Each year, district Interact chairs receive a list of other district Interact chairs worldwide. They’re encouraged to contact each other to share ideas, plan joint projects, and organize multidistrict meetings. Chairs who didn’t receive an updated list during the first quarter of the Rotary year should contact RI staff.

District Interact Representative Form

Districts containing five or more Interact clubs may elect a district Interact representative. This individual is elected from among the membership of all Interact clubs within the district and can assist Interact chairs in administering the district program. If your district has elected a district Interact representative, complete the form (PDF), and return it to Rotary International so the representative may be included in future updates.

Interact Brochure

The Interact Brochure  can be used to promote Interact to potential sponsor Rotary clubs or Interact club members.

Interact Faculty Adviser Guide

Advisers play key roles in supporting Interact clubs. The Interact Faculty Adviser Guide (PDF), a Web-only publication, explains how Interact fits into the family of Rotary, suggests adviser responsibilities, outlines risk management, supplies additional resources, and offers effective and successful ways to fulfill the faculty adviser role.

Interact Handbook

The Interact Handbook  can serve as a comprehensive guide to the program.

Additional copies of all Interact publications can be obtained through Publications Order Services (phone: 847-866-4600) or online.

Status report

Each Rotary year, each district Interact chair receives a mailing from RI that includes a status report of Interact clubs in the district. Please review the list carefully to ensure that all the information is correct. If you discover an error, contact Interact staff, who can update the records and provide the most recent list.
