Rotary zones overview
Rotary International's Board of Directors is elected by Rotary's 34 zones. RI Bylaws require the composition of the zones to be reviewed at least every eight years to ensure that each zone has approximately the same number of Rotarians.
The Board adopted new zone boundaries at its June 2008 meeting. The zone realignment takes effect 1 July 2009 and will be used to select members of director nominating committees in 2008-09.
This year, governors-elect must attend governors-elect training seminars (GETS) based on the old zones structure. In 2009-10, governors-elect will attend GETS for the new zone structure.
