Annual Programs Fund
A named gift to the Annual Programs Fund is an outright contribution that provides immediate funding for the Foundation’s cultural, humanitarian, and educational programs. One hundred percent of the gift is spent on a designated program in that given year.
Named gift opportunities include but are not limited to:
Ambassadorial Scholarships – World’s largest privately funded international scholarships program for university-level studies
- US$24,000: Provides funds for an academic-year Ambassadorial Scholarship; usually grants a scholar nine months of full-time study in another country but also can help finance a multiyear Ambassadorial Scholarship, which grants a scholar two years of study toward a degree in another country
- $16,000: Funds a six-month cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship for intensive foreign language training and cultural immersion in another country
- $11,000: Funds a three-month cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship for intensive foreign language training and cultural immersion in another country
Group Study Exchange – Cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for professionals ages 25-40
- $11,000: Provides funds for a Group Study Exchange, which sends teams of men and women abroad for four to six weeks to study another country’s institutions, economy, and culture
Rotary Grants for University Teachers – Support higher-education faculty traveling abroad to teach at colleges and universities in developing countries
- $24,000: Provides funds for a professor to teach for 6-10 months
- $13,000: Provides funds for a professor to teach for 3-5 months
Permanent Fund
An endowed gift is a contribution made to the Permanent Fund. Opportunities include:
- $1 million: Minimum gift to propose a new Foundation program for Trustee consideration
- $250,000: Establishes a named fund within the Permanent Fund and entitles the donor to recognition in the Arch C. Klumph Gallery at RI World Headquarters
- $150,000: Minimum gift to establish a named project within a Foundation program, such as an endowed Ambassadorial Scholarship; a portion of the earnings is directed to the project to provide support in perpetuity
- $50,000: Establishes a named fund within the Permanent Fund; a portion of the earnings may be directed to a particular humanitarian or educational program of The Rotary Foundation through the World Fund, such as Ambassadorial Scholarships or Health, Hunger and Humanity Grants
- $25,000: Establishes a named fund within the Permanent Fund; a portion of the earnings may be directed to the donor’s district or support the World Fund, and investment earnings are tracked as a district fund within the Permanent Fund
Rotary Centers for International Study in peace and conflict resolution
- More than $1.5 million endows a Rotary World Peace Fellow as often as every year for two years of study in perpetuity.
- More than $750,000 endows a Rotary World Peace Fellow as often as every two years for two years of study in perpetuity.More than $500,000 endows a Rotary World Peace Fellow as often as every three years for two years of study in perpetuity.
- A one-time restricted annual gift of $60,000 funds a single Rotary World Peace Fellow for the full two-year program. This outright contribution provides immediate funding for the Rotary Centers; 100 percent of the gift is spent on the program.
