We are a club with 230 members and our membership has asked that we provide them with a definition. It's a struggle, so any comments would be appreciated.

Bringing a friend or colelague along to Rotary is a good way to start and also sharing the values of Rotary with friends , family and colleagues. it is great using our website to share experiences on how other clubs are developing and retaining their members.

I am ending my year as club president and I have one member of my club who I would like to recognize in a special way. I had a form that I faxed to RI for this citation. I faxed it on March 31st and have not heard anything - not even an acknowledgement that it was received. I just noticed that the date on the form is May 2003. Does anyone have any information on this citation?

I have started the Orientation meeting for new and prospective members from 27th July, 2008 and within 4 months we have 26 members ready to join. While this orientation and meeting with prospective members, I have been number of times asked about the meeting intervals. We meet every week and that was one of the reason for not joining the rotary. We know that since last more than a century, we follow this tradition for better fellowship and community service. The reasons for adopting this weekly meeting policy are best known to the senior leaders of RI. My request to know that, would it posible to have regula meeting at fortnight? This will certainly increase membership growth, participation of members in the meeting as wel projects.

On one side we are talking about the 4 way test and the high ideals of Rotary and on the other we are unable to prevent disasters[ retention of new members- new clubs] as that of Rotary Coimbatore Heritage. A club facaing closure before they reach their first anniversary. Thia is shockking and make one loose faith in Rotary. After i read the message i felt i must pray to all concerned to help bring friendship in rotary and not close our eyes to the problems of our brothers in Rotary Heritage. The good samaritans of Rotary please save such disasters.

I am looking for success stories to rebuild a club of 15 members. What I am suggesting is the club approach the process like a Provisional Rotary club and work towards 20 plus members and actually have a Re-Chartering night and re-present the club’s charter. Has anyone done this?

They have been incredibly supportive during the Presidential conferences as well as continuing to provide detailed information about the districts in my Zone. Job well done! With regard to the COL and allowing alumni as members in the alumni classification, I am totally for it. These are people who have felt the support of the foundation first hand and are probably some of the best supporters of the Foundation programs of any people I know. We have long talked about all the people we invested in and the poor rate of return on the investment. This is a perfect way to maximize that investment. Now all we need to do is ask them to join!
