Past RI Vice President Louis Piconi dies

Past RI Vice President Louis Piconi, of Pennsylvania, USA, died 13 December.
A Rotarian since 1976, Piconi was a member of the Rotary Club of Bethel-St. Clair, Pennsylvania. In addition to being RI vice president, he served terms as RI director and Foundation trustee. He was also district governor, regional Rotary Foundation coordinator, chair of the President’s Advisory Committee, and cochair of the PolioPlus Partners Task Force.
Piconi owned and managed rental property in southwestern Pennsylvania. A past chair and board member of the local parking authority, he also served on the boards of numerous civic organizations, including the Greater Bridgeville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Pittsburgh Guild for the Blind.
Piconi was named Man of the Year by the Charities Valley Commission on Human Relations and received the Albert Gallatin Award for the Pittsburgh area for community and business achievement.
He received the Foundation’s Citation for Meritorious Service and Distinguished Service Award, the RI Service Above Self Award, and the International Service Award for Polio-Free World.
