Rotary International

Revenue
Rotary International's revenue is received primarily from annual membership dues. Separately, services and other activities, such as the annual international convention, publications and supplies, and magazine advertising are included in Rotary's revenue, as are any net investment returns . In 2006-07, Rotary International's total revenue was US$92.4 million.

Expenses
Rotary's expenses are reported as operating expenses (functions associated with serving Rotarians, such as governance, membership programs and services, and management) and services and other activities (activities that generate income to offset the expenses incurred). In 2006-07, Rotary International's total expenses were $72.9 million. The Rotary Foundation

Revenue and contributions
The Rotary Foundation's revenue comprises contributions and investment earnings. Since 1917, when the Foundation received its first contribution of $26.50, the generosity of Rotarians and friends of Rotary has been one of steadfast commitment to doing good in the world . In 2006-07, The Rotary Foundation's total revenue was $238.8 million.

Expenses
Over the past 10 years, the Foundation spent an average of 87 percent on program awards and operations. Each year, The Rotary Foundation funds three principal program areas: Humanitarian Grants , Educational Programs , and PolioPlus . In 2006-07, The Rotary Foundation's total expenses were $137.8 million, of which $118.8 million was for programs.

Since 1947, nearly 37,000 scholars from 110 countries have received Ambassadorial Scholarships , valued at US$429 million.

Between 1996-97 and 2006-07, investment income from the Annual Programs Fund was used to fund the Foundation's operating expenses, and excess investment income of $99.3 million from 1996-97 through 1999-2000 was spent on program awards.
